Blain is a pretty little town only 15 minutes from our gites. Nestled on the Nantes-Brest canal it has plenty of history to be discovered as well as a small port. The 12th century Chateau de la Groulais is a short walk from the town across the canal, the Chateau offers interesting exhibitions as 
well as an old printing works which is fascinating. Each September there is a Medieval Festival held in the Chtaeu grounds. There is a weekly market and the town has a selection of restaurants.
The Foret du Gavre is only 5 minutes away and is a superb natural area for cyclists and walkers.
