The local town of Redon became a busy trading port thanks to it's position on the crossing point of the important River Vilaine and the Nantes Brest canal. The maritime port contributed greatly to the economic development of Redon and the surrounding area. Now not so reliant of it's port, a museum pays tribute to this maritime history. The museum is packed full of interesting memoribilia and photos of the former lives of sailors and the river and canal boats. Definitely worth a visit!Sunday, 7 November 2010
